Howdy ho! I had a wonderful day yesterday. The PA media rep, Ms. Chang, and I planned a trip to Jeonju. Aileen went along as well. Despite the rain for most of the day, we had a great time visiting the old town area of Jeonju, department stores, a massage parlor and restaurants. Aileen and I will also be featured on a nation-wide tourist spot on a TV station based in Seoul. I will try to post the link for you all when I find it. Enjoy the photos below!
Above, driving into Jeonju. I thought the statues were real people....how lovely that they knew I was coming and decided to play a tune for me!
Below is bibimbap, one of my favorite dishes. This was one of the best I have had while here. There is a raw egg on top, but the bowl is so hot that it cooks the egg as soon as you stir it.

Ms. Chang and I below. One of the waitresses came out and presented Aileen and I with 4 small rice patties that were slightly sweet and had raisins and almonds in them. Ms. Chang said because we were foreigners the host wanted to treat us to this dish that they made especially for us. I felt so honored! They were pretty good too!
A former president dined at the restaurant we ate at for lunch.
They had a beautiful waterfall out front. Despite the rain, we all had a great time.
We visited a wedding/party hall. Apparently anyone can rent the building!
Looking at the photos now, I realize that Aileen and I wore almost the same thing. Have we been hanging out too much?
Below...entering Jeonju village! Very similar to Old Town Manassas or St. Augustine. It was perfect, even in the rain. We windowed shopped and stopped for coffee!
There were handicrafts on the sidewalks and we stopped in a museum below. I couldn't read much.

There was a little stream that ran along the sidewalk. I love Jeonju!
I think the below is called something like king's candy, but it was interesting to say the least. Kind of feels like wool in your mouth at first, but then it starts to melt and sort of turns into a cotton candy feeling candy, only a lot less sweeter. There is some kind of almondy concoction in the middle. Pretty good, but I recommend eating with water.

Apparently they also sold Guinness at our coffee shop. Kind of random but what the heck. Trying out my sweet black and white function on my camera.
We stopped at the below tourist attraction that was built for a past king...kind of an old place.
Awesome day so far. Some where in all of this we were stopped by the news team. Hopefully I will have more details later!

We stopped at a department store later to get out of the rain and Ms. Chang got her make-up done! Beautiful!
Afterwards, we stopped by a massage parlor. Little did I know I was about to get my butt kicked. Literally.
The girl literally sat on top of me and massaged by butt with her knees, my calves with her toes and my back with her hands and elbows if you can picture that. I was also gropped in a few other places. Have to say that was a first. I think she tried to pull a few limbs out of my body as well. Definitely the most intense massage I have ever had in my life. Not sure I would call it a massage either, more like a beating. And the pictures make it look so peaceful. LIARS!
We did have VIP status though...
Post massage we stopped at TGI Fridays! Yes, in Jeonju! How cool is that? That's really neat!
They sure did make my margarita strong. Wasn't expecting that!
